How to understand this park
Palo Verde protects wetlands, dry forest, seasonal lagoons and limestone hills. SINAC states that roughly 60% of its 19,800 hectares is wetland, and the site has Ramsar recognition.
Water radically changes the landscape. The dry season concentrates birds around remaining lagoons; rain transforms roads, vegetation and wildlife distribution. Neither season alone represents the park.
