Access and transport
Uvita lies on Route 34. The park has several official sectors and the daily ticket applies according to published conditions. Parking is generally external.

Season and climate
The South Pacific is rainy. A relatively dry period runs roughly mid-December to mid-April. Humpbacks arrive in northern and southern hemisphere windows, but sightings are never guaranteed.

How to understand this destination
Marino Ballena National Park protects roughly 15 kilometres of coast and environments including sandy and rocky beaches, mangrove, reef and forest. Uvita is one entrance, not the entire park.
The Whale Tail is a natural sand-and-rock tombolo. SINAC indicates access during roughly six hours of low tide; that window must include the return, not only reaching the end.

- Where to base yourself
- Uvita clusters services on and near Route 34. Check the real distance from lodging to the sector entrance you plan to use.

- The town is dispersed; walking from any lodging to the park is not always practical. Arrange vehicle, taxi or transfer.
- A workable pace
- Tide governs the day: calculate both outbound and return Whale Tail walking, then place everything else around that window.
